A public appeal is made for information that can assist in locating a 21 year old female from Norway who went missing in Sedgefield on 18 April 2018.

Marie Ostbo, from Norway arrived in Sedgefield on Wednesday, 18 April 2018, together with a group of international students.

At approximately 6pm, Marie joined members of the group for a walk on Myoli Beach in Sedgefield. When the group returned to their accommodation, at around 7pm, Marie was not among them.

Marie was last seen shortly before 7pm on Myoli Beach. She was dressed in blue denim pants and a white shirt. When the students noticed that Marie did not come into the backpackers where they are staying, they went to look for her but were unable to locate her.

At 7h40, members of the group raised the alarm and alerted the NSRI and South African Police Services (SAPS). An extensive search was immediately initiated.

The search for Marie is continuing, with the help of the SAPS, K9 police members, NSRI station 23 and community police.
