Cheers - To a successful 2018 Wilderness Festival

On the weekend of 13-15 April, Wilderness had their 3rd festival, held at the historical Wilderness Hotel Resort And Spa. It is the biggest event of its kind in Wilderness and is a great annual event.

With the Audi and BMW cars and motorbikes out in front on display, the tone was set for a high quality experience. The weather was perfect and the venue really lends itself to moseying and browsing. There was plenty of comfortable seating, a place to rest and eat and drink while 'people watching'. With something for everyone it was certainly a weekend to be remembered - there was more than 25 hours of live music (evenly distributed over the three days) that was enjoyed by anyone who sat down to soak up the vibe or got up and boogied. Food stalls lined the corridors; we were spoilt for choice as there was everything from boerewors rolls and burgers to sushi and Lancewood Cheese to candy floss!

The Saturday of 14 April, had the place jam-packed and pumping, people were highly entertained and the party raged well into the night. Revelers struggled to leave the happening event - a sure sign of a successful event.

The children's entertainment side of things had go-karts and jumping castles, sweets and magicians - a great way to while away the hours while the adults were able to leisurely taste wine, gin, whisky, mampoer, witblitz and finish off with a delicious 'Dom Pedro'. The drinks were plentiful and in just the right quantities to taste. The craft stalls were beautifully displayed, the people’s handiwork was really something to witness - from knives and gourmet olives to driftwood sculptures and clothing - there really was something for every member of the family.

Local businessman and entrepreneur, Jacques Pratt, owner of Wild Festival CC, and his team, Carine Bryant (co-organiser), and Candy-Lee (assistant), convey their gratitude to the public for the tremendous support for making the annual 2018 Wilderness Festival a huge success. The 2019 Wilderness Festival will take place on 12, 13 and 14 April 2019 at The Wilderness Hotel Resort and Spa. Plans are in place to present an even better and bigger Festival in 2019, with more exciting products - mark the date!
