The bikes are back in Mossel Bay

Mossel Bay is revving up to welcome the 2012 Buffalo Rally which is set to get the town buzzing from March 16 - 18.

This is the 35th running of the Rally, and the seventh time it is visiting Mossel Bay. The Buff will once again take place right on the beachfront at the Santos and De Bakke Resorts, and, as usual, there’ll be great food and drinks available at reasonable prices, great music with live bands throughout the weekend, and of course, lots of prizes to be won – with a lucky draw for the 1st prize of R100,000.
The Rally is open to anyone on a motorcycle, but cars, quads bikes, and trailers will not be allowed into the Rally Grounds.
Day visitors will also be welcome, but they’ll be required to pay the full entry fee – and children under the age of 18 will only be allowed into the Grounds if they’re accompanied by a parent or guardian who will be required to sign an indemnity accepting full responsibility for the behavior and safety of the child.
The Buff began in Bathhurst in 1969, and has also visited Aliwal North, Oudtshoorn, Bloemfontein, Port Elizabeth, and Maseru.
This is one of Mossel Bay’s biggest and most popular events and provides an enormous cash injection for the economy – more than 6,000 people registered on line or at the gate last year.
Entry forms for the Buffalo Rally can be downloaded from the Nomads Motorcycle Club web site: www.nomads.org.za/buffalorally.html.
