Voëlklip claim another life

Police confirmed that the body of a woman was recovered from Voëlklip in Herolds Bay after her red Chevrolet Spark plunged over the cliffs into the water below on Tuesday 3 December 2019. The name of the person (known to Wild News) has not yet been released.

According to police spokesperson, Sgt Chris Spies, a member of the public notified police at approximately 9h30pm on Tuesday 3 December of a red Chevrolet Spark at the bottom of the cliff at the infamous Voëlklip in Herolds Bay.

A search and recovery effort was launched at 5am on Wednesday, and the body of a 52 year old woman was recovered. It is believed that she was the only occupant in the vehicle. No foul play is suspected.

In November 2015, three young men died after their vehicle plunged down the cliff.

In April 2016, the body of 62 year old Tobias Koen was recovered after his vehicle was spotted on the rocks at Voëlklip.

October 2019 saw another tragedy at Voëlklip, after three members of a family was killed after their vehicle plunged into the waters below Voëlklip. The body Heidi Scheepers (32) and her 2 year old son was recovered while the body of her 6 year daughter remain missing.
