Wilderness goes active
The next couple of weeks will be jam packed with fun activities for sport lovers and outdoor enthusiasts in the Garden Route.
ON 26 October, the Merrell Eden Duo (MED), now in its 12th year, promises to be one of the highlights of the Wilderness sporting calendar. The MED is a 24 hour multi-sport event where all the disciplines of endurance racing is combined in an exciting one day event. The race starts and finishes at the Ebb and Flow Rest Camp. There is also a Mini Med for younger participants and loads of activities, including food stalls and music for the whole family.
Next month, runners will get the opportunity to run the beautiful 21km stretch of beach between Swartvlei and Wilderness, all in aid of the Wilderness NSRI. The Full Moon Beach Run takes place on 16 November, but entries close on the 8th of November, so don’t delay.
For all the guys who are more interested in a laugh than a serious run, there is the Daredevil Run in aid of testicular and prostate cancer, where all participants will be dressed in red speedo’s when taking on the 4km run from Glenwood House in George. This event is only open to male participants.
